March 14, 7:30PM
UVM Recital Hall
$25 Adults

Mistral is a trio of musicians that includes a Lane Series favorite, classical guitarist Jason Vieaux. His playing has been called "…close to perfection…with a maturity, confidence, emotion and virtuosity which belies his youth…" (Soundboard Magazine). He is joined by flutist Julie Scolnik who has been praised by the Boston Globe for her "tonal enchantment" and her playing "with an urgency full of fire that melts into disarming delicacy." Along with the heartbreakingly beautiful operatic soprano of Maria Ferrante, they will perform Valls: Sephardic Songs for soprano, guitar and flute, De Falla: Sietes Canciones Populares Españolas, Piazzolla: Histoire du Tango for flute & guitar; Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for soprano & guitar (and flute) and more.
