Named in honor of George Washington Henderson, the first African American man (and UVM alum, class of 1877!) to be admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. It's the UVM Bookstore loaded with fun reading material, and now it's attached to a café with a fireplace. This local favorite was a hit at our brand fair held to let the UVM community taste and vote on its favorite food options on campus. The country's first ever, student-run, non-profit deli is proud to be open at UVM. Offering gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches made with local Vermont products, the UVM chapter of FeelGood is a great place to grab lunch and help end world hunger. FeelGood's ingredients are donated by local businesses such as Klinger's Bread Company, Shelburne Farms, and Vermont Base Waters. Because of these sponsors, all of the money that is collected goes directly to The Hunger Project (THP). THP is an international organization that is passionate about finding a sustainable end to world hunger. They follow a grassroots, bottom-up empowerment model and are currently operational in 23 countries worldwide.
