Blackboard Mobile

After testing Blackboard’s mobile application, we recommend that it be used primarily for reading or viewing course content. For creating content, posting, entering grades, or for interaction between instructors and students please use the non-mobile web interface.

The Blackboard Mobile app is currently a free download via the App Store. Upon start-up you’ll be asked to search for your university. Searching for "Vermont" may be the most successful search term. Once you find and select “The University of Vermont” you will be prompted to enter your UVM NetID and password. This will log you into the Blackboard mobile interface where you can scroll to find a course and the read/view most content within it.

Note: The Blackboard Mobile app will only work when connecting from an iOS (iPhone/iPad) over a WiFi network. There is not currently an Android app available. The iOS app will not work over a cellular data connection.

Blackboard is changing the licensing and expanding the functionality of the mobile app. As of September 17th, the Blackboard Mobile app will no longer be free. You will need to buy the mobile functionality via an in-app purchase in order to connect to Blackboard from the app. At this point the app will be available to Android users and will be able to connect over cellular data plans.
