Community Service Scholarship Program
Information for Current Community Service Scholars:
Being a community service scholar does not just mean you get a financial scholarship and complete your required hours. Instead, it means you are a part of a committed group of students who, by working together, make a larger impact on the community. Group service projects, regular meetings, and social events are all a part of being in this program.
Completing and Reporting Your Hours
Student Mini-Grants (new in 2007!!)
The Community Service Scholarship Program has evolved to become the ONLY student-led scholarship program at UVM. Under the guidance of an advisor and a scholarship program coordinator, the group functions like any other student organization. Students run meetings, plan events, and work together to complete their service.
Completing and Reporting Your Hours:
Community Service Scholars are required to complete at least 80 hours of service in the course of each academic year (August - August). In order to have those hours approved, you must submit an hour report form to the CSSP Office. You have two options for turning in this form:
1. Print it out, fill it out by hand, and mail it to the CSSP Office (106 McAuley Hall); or
2. Download the form to your computer, fill it out, save it, and e-mail it as an attachment to: cssp@uvm.edu.
If you are looking for support in finding a way to complete your hours, or if you have questions about this requirment, contact the CSSP Program advisor, Eliza Heppner at eheppner@uvm.edu or 802-656-0095.
