Just who DO I call?

There are a variety of offices that connect the community with university partners.  You may call any of these offices for guidance if are unsure of who might best fit your project, but here are a few standard examples that might help you clarify (click on the links to learn more about those offices and get contact information):

• If you are looking for a long-term partnership that might be linked with an academic research project or might be a good candidate to partner with an academic course, contact the CUPS office. 

• If you are looking for people, particularly UVM students to do community service on a one-day, short-term or long-term basis, you can contact the Department of Student Life and ask about one-time service events, the Volunteers in Action organization, or Student Government Association Programs.  You could also call Residential Life and ask about their service-related programming, and the Center for Student Ethics and Standards also coordinates one-day or short-term community restitution that might be applicable to your needs.
  

• If you are looking for an intern or a work-study student to staff your nonprofit, try calling the Career Services Office and asking about the Service-Learning Internship Program, the Nonprofit Program, and the Work Study Program.
  
  
• If you are looking for programs and courses coordinated by UVM that are open to community participants, you can contact University Extension or Continuing Education.
