Community Participatory Action Research Network
CPAR Network
The UVM CPAR Network is open to anyone interested in research that
involves the community. The network is a forum for learning about,
advancing, and sharing ideas and information regarding community-based
research.
The network receives support from UVM’s Office of Community-University Partnerships and Service Learning (CUPS) and is coordinated by an executive committee made up of faculty, staff, and students.
To learn more about the CPAR Network please read below, contact the CUPS Office, or join the network's listserv.Mission
The CPAR Network is an alliance of UVM affiliates with local, national and international partners who seek to support and advance participatory action research conducted in partnership with, and for the benefit of, the larger community.
Network Functions
Listserv
The
UVM CPAR Network facilitates an email listserv so that colleagues can
easily communicate with one another to share ideas, information and
opportunities; ask questions and seek advice; and develop goals and
action items.
Events
Sponsorship
and co-sponsorship of events relating to community-based research offers
members of the broader UVM community further opportunities to network,
share, and learn. Events include speakers, training and development
workshops, poster sessions and presentations, and discussion forums.
Network Meetings
Occasionally the UVM CPAR Network convenes to discuss specific action items, issues, and initiatives.
Advocacy and Outreach
The
UVM CPAR Network engages the University and other institutions and key
players in ways that make community-based research accessible to
community partners; afford institutional, professional, and academic
recognition to faculty and students; and enhance methods for evaluation
and accountability in CPAR projects.
