Smoking and Tobacco Use

UVM is a tobacco-free campus. Tobacco-free shall be defined as prohibiting the use of all forms of tobacco, and all products derived in whole or in part from tobacco, including e-cigarettes. The use of tobacco products is prohibited on University property, including buildings, grounds, roadways, walkways, parking structures and surfaces, as well as University owned vehicles, regardless of location. For more information, see the full Tobacco-Free Initiative.

The State of Vermont's legal drinking age is 21. The expectation at the University of Vermont is that those under the age of 21 may not possess or consume alcohol (or any illegal substances).

No dogs or other domestic animals, with the exception of seeing-eye dogs and hearing-ear dogs, are allowed to be in University buildings. For reasons of health and sanitation, pets of any type may not be kept in the residence halls.
