Dr. Marcia Bosek joined the Department of Nursing at the University of Vermont full-time in the fall of 2009 after holding a joint appointment for two and a half years between University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care, where she served as a clinical ethicist. Before moving to Vermont, she was an associate professor at Rush University where she taught nursing and ethics to undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to her academic role, she was also a member of the Rush University Medical Center's ethics consultation service for 17 years.
Dr. Bosek recently (2007) co-authored a nursing ethics textbook titled The ethical component of nursing education: Integrating ethics into clinical experiences. She serves on the editorial board and authors the nursing ethics column for JONA's Healthcare Law, Ethics and Regulation journal. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. Her program of research focuses on how healthcare professionals make clinical ethical decisions.

Research Interests
Dr. Bosek's program of research has two foci: ethical decision-making and qualitative methods.
