Confidentiality? ...Absolutely!
The Center for Health and Wellbeing always keeps your medical and counseling records STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.... and medical and counseling records are not connected with any academic records. A copy of medical/counseling records is available only with a written request signed by the patient/client.
Because the relationship between you and your Center for Health and Wellbeing health care provider and/or counselor is based on confidentiality, we do not release information about the facts or nature of your care to University officials, family, friends or roommates without your permission. Such notification to others, including parents, is considered to be your responsibility and will not be usurped unless your medical/mental health condition is very serious and you are unable to assume the responsibility for informing others when appropriate. Exceptions to the rules of confidentiality are made only when your own life or that of another person is in danger, when a named minor is reported to be abused, or on the rare occasion when we are presented with a valid court order.
