Center for Health and Wellbeing About CHWB

Welcome

The Center for Health and Wellbeing is committed to the concepts of wellness and prevention. We believe the college years are an ideal time to establish healthy behaviors that could have a lifelong positive impact, so we offer to the UVM community an opportunity to learn about and achieve optimal health and wellbeing. We're right on campus and are very accessible.

Our staff of physicians, psychologists, counselors, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, registered nurses, health/prevention educators, athletic trainers, physical therapists and support staff have specifically chosen college health as their professional focus and are experienced in responding to the medical, counseling and wellness needs of today's diverse population of students.

We urge you to use the Center for Health and Wellbeing as you used your health care provider's office at home. Here are a few suggestions to help you do so:

  • Call first for an appointment. Your waiting time will be shorter and you can choose your provider.
  • Please read the information on this website or in our printed materials carefully. The more familiar you are with the Center's services, the more comfortable and knowledgeable you'll be when you come to us for care. Do not hesitate to ask questions about the care or services available to you.
  • Call us before seeking care elsewhere. We have a nurse or clinician and a mental health professional on call for urgent problems whenever our offices are closed during the academic year. We welcome your questions, comments and suggestions so that we may help make your college years as healthy as possible.
