Rhyla Moonsong is a slender, dark-haired elf of exceeding beauty, even though she seems almost unaware of her natural charms. Somewhat shy, she is nonetheless well-spoken when she chooses to be and can command attention of almost anybody when she begins telling a tale or playing a song.
Although she has visited elven lands from time to time, Rhyla has always lived among humans, leaving her feeling alienated from most people. Her father Anen spent generations with the famous Pathfinder Society, traveling to distant lands and constantly adventuring for the organization. As a result, both Rhyla and her mother Thalana were repeatedly relocated so they could be with Anen between his adventures.
Anen’s adventures were not without tragedy, however. He wound up crossing Ganot, an evil mage who struck at Anen’s family in retaliation. Anen ultimately defeated Ganot, but not before the mage killed Thalana. Following the death of his wife, Anen retired from the adventuring life. Much to his chagrin, however, Rhyla had already grown intrigued by her father’s many tales and sought a life of adventure of her own. In recent years she has set out in search of her own adventures, and hopes to one day join the Pathfinder Society like her father.
Rhyla attempts nonviolent solutions to her problems if possible. She will use her bardic music to fascinate potential foes or put them to sleep with her magic. If forced into combat, she relies on speed and terrain to aid her, preferably staying out of melee range. Rhyla will surrender if the odds are against her and she thinks she can gain some mercy. She is proud, though, and will not suffer indignities or poor treatment, preferring to die in defiance rather than allow herself to be tormented.
