The beginning of an epic journey...
Started at the US - Mexican border on April 24th, 2009 in the town of Campo, CA. I only hiked for a day before arriving at Lake Morena State Park
where I attended the ADZPCTKO (Annual Day Zero PCT Kick Off - A low-key gathering of past, present, and future thru-hikers to inform this years hikers
about what they may encounter on the trail and how to deal with it). This first leg of my journey brought me through the Laguna Mountains, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park,
San Felipe Hills, San Jacinto Wilderness, and then finally I skirted around the San Gorgonio Wilderness crossing Whitewater River and Mission Creek before
arriving in Big Bear City. Along the way I stopped and resupplied in Julian, Warner Springs, Idyllwild, and Big Bear City, CA.
