The Secondary Education Political Science major includes the list of specific Political Science requirements and the Supplemental courses that are required for completion of the Political Science major leading to a Social Studies endorsement.

Political Science Requirements	30 cr. hrs.
Complete the following courses
POLS 021 American Political System
POLS 041 Introduction to Political Theory
POLS 051 Introduction to International Relations
POLS 071 Comparative Political Systems
Select six courses at the 100 level or above in cooperation with a POLS advisor and your CESS advisor. (18 cr. hrs.)
POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above POLS Elective Numbered at the 100 Level or Above
Supplemental Social Studies Courses	Minimum 12 cr. hrs. in addition to credits above
History (HST) - Minimum of two HST courses required in addition to HST 011 or 012 in General Education. Cultural Geography (GEOG) - Options include: GEOG 050, 060, upper level courses 171, 173, 174, 175, 176, 177, 178, 179 (may have prerequisites). Diversity - Fulfilled by University Diversity requirement. Citizenship (POLS) - Fulfilled by Political Science major. Economics (EC) - Minimum 3 credit Economics course required.
