The UVM/GIV Engineering Summer Institute is an 8-day program for high school students held every summer at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.
Approximately 80 students from across the country attend each year to explore career opportunities in aerospace, biomedical, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as statistics, mathematics and computer science.
Throughout the week, students attend lectures by professors from the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS), take field trips to engineering companies, meet engineers and learn about career options in engineering. They have a week-long robotics project, culminating in a Robot Competition at the end of the week. Students also experience life in a college dorm setting.
Applications are accepted until the last week of June. Find out more
