Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program at UVM
All Paul D. Coverdell Fellows receive up to 6 academic credits at no cost in recognition of their previous substantive Peace Corps activities (total value for 6 credits is currently $3,336).
Out-of-state residents who enroll as Paul D. Coverdell Fellows may also qualify for in-state tuition rates. For ’14-‘15, in-state graduate tuition rates are $591 per credit hour, which represents a greater-than-60% reduction compared to the $1,493 per credit hour rate charge for out-of-state graduate students.
On top of to the 6 academic credits in recognition of previous substantive Peace Corps activities, any Paul D. Cloverdell Fellow may meet additional criteria to be eligible for and receive a teaching and/or research assistantship valued at ~$28,000 annually for two-year enrollment in the CDAE MS or MPA program.
CDAE also houses UVM's on-campus Peace Corps Recruiter. This assistantship is available to applicants every other year and provides full two-year funding for a Coverdell Fellow to pursue their MS or MPA degree.
In addition, Coverdell Fellows are eligible to compete for a broad range of financial support including: teaching and research assistantships, university-wide scholarships, Snelling Center for Government internships, and University Transportation Research Center Graduate Scholars Program or assistantships.
