Additional Calendar Information
- Family Meetings: There will be a total of 4 family meetings throughout the year, two in the Fall and two in the Spring. We will utilize a survey to identify best dates for families.
- Student Presentations: The student teachers present their projects to families each semester. This is a great opportunity for families to see what their children have been engaged in and to support the good work of our students. November and May are the months these take place. The faculty will determine exact dates for May, November is listed. Once determined, we will update the calendar accordingly.
- Spring Teacher In-Service: Traditionally the school has closed the last two days of Spring break each year for the teacher spring in-service time. We would like to survey families this year to explore the option of changing those dates to the following week, March 13-14. As a school we have a special opportunity to attend a conference led by Reggio Children and the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (Italy coming to us!) in NYC March 13-15. This is part of the Wonder of Learning: The One Hundred Languages of Children traveling exhibit being hosted in NYC starting in January. Here is a link: http://www.newyorkcitywol.org . If you have the opportunity to be in NYC, we highly encourage you to attend this exhibit. It is a compelling representation of the work being done by children, teachers, families and the Early Childhood community in Reggio Emilia, which inspires our daily work here at school.
