The Boston Campaign Committee is a volunteer group of alumni, parents, and friends of the University who are working to raise $5 million in Campaign commitments from individuals living in the Boston area by June 30, 2005. Members of the Committee have each made a minimum $25,000 commitment to The Campaign for the University of Vermont.

The Kickoff of the Boston Campaign was held at the Boston Athenaeum on May 5, 2004, and during the course of the next year members of the Committee will work to engage (and re-engage) members of the UVM family, encouraging involvement and increased giving to the University.

The Boston Campaign Committee will work in partnership with the Boston Regional Board to plan additional events in and around the Boston area next year, from UVM athletic events to showcasing some of the University’s best faculty to networking opportunities with fellow UVMers.

TESTIMONIALS
  • Eric Burt '80
UVM gave me the flexibility to fall flat on my face, the confidence to get back up again, and the knowledge and tools to ultimately succeed. It helped shape my "business and social DNA" that I have with me today. I made lifelong friends during the journey, which is the best bonus. I joined the Committee because I am committed to give back to an institution that helped me get so much out of life.

When my oldest child began looking at colleges, my appreciation for UVM and all it gave me increased tremendously as I saw colleges around the country and remembered the great times at UVM. I feel I have a healthy respect for what college means and how it influences your entire life. Having watched my daughter grow up these past 18 years, I realize how quickly the time goes, and yet how important the relatively short 4 years of college are in so many respects. I am still close with many UVMers and the bond is always there. UVM is such a special place – not too big, but large enough to offer a variety of things academically and out of the classroom, a gorgeous lake and mountains, great people who appreciate the outdoors and beautiful things in life.

Since I have been out of college more than 25 years (yikes) it feels great to be giving back to such a good institution that has such tremendous leadership under Dan Fogel. The people that I have met since getting involved, professors, development staff and administration are so committed and enthusiastic – it is infectious and so energizing.
