Research
As the director of a forensic laboratory my primary focus is on the day to day operations of the laboratory. We are an accredited laboratory and must follow certain protocols and procedures and maintaining accreditation is very important to our laboratory and to the criminal justice system. The accreditation process stresses excellence in scientific analyses and staying current with technology and with new techniques to solve forensic problems is essential to that goal. I have been very interested in pursuing new technologies and we have been actively involved in research at our facility. Our current research involves the application of real-time PCR for the quantitation of Human DNA in crime scene samples.
