Vegetation
Throughout the wetlands, Common Reed, Reedmace, Papyrus and occasionally Giant Reed dominate the emergent vegetation.  The Common Reed dominates the more permanent areas of marsh, and Reedmace the more seasonal areas of marsh.  The marshlands water was also covered with floating vegetation such as water lilies and duckweed.

Common Reed
            Phragmites australis
                   This plant Species grows between six to twelve feet tall.  The Common Reed dominated the permanent area of marshlands.
