Climate

The Tigris and Euphrates make one of the harshest environments in the world habitable and productive. The area surrounding the Tigris and Euphrates is known for the  extreme heat and cold in summer and winter, respectivly.   Daytime temperatures rise as high as 140 F. Humidity in most areas is as low as 15 percent.   Seasonal rainfall reaches its peak  between March and May.  The rain can be torrential in winter but usually does not exceed 8 inches.  The lack of rain leads to dust storms, which occur throughout the year, and are especially frequent in the summer.
