    Keri Ogrizovich, M.Ed.

ASL Program Coordinator
Courses taught: ASL I, II, III, IV and Understanding Deaf Culture

Keri Ogrizovich has been teaching ASL in the community since 1999 as a side job. It was not until a brief teaching stint in New York City did Keri realized she had the strong desire to return to Vermont and focus on pursuing her passion teaching ASL full time. She is a die-hard UVM-er having completed her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and her Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at UVM. In 2005, Keri was hired at UVM to become the first ASL Program Coordinator. In the spring of 2007, Keri was successfully able to convince the Arts and Science Curriculum Committee at UVM to accept ASL as a foreign language and the motion was passed by faculty members in the fall of 2007, to go in effect in the fall of 2008.

Keri is a member of the American Sign Language Teaching Association (ASLTA) and holds a Provisional Certification. In 2007, Keri became a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). On a personal note, Keri resides in Fairfax with her husband, Nick (who works on campus at ACCESS), their two sons, and two dogs. She enjoys reading books, being outdoors, and traveling internationally.
