Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports Pepsi Challenge Ski Race: 8-10 March, 2002

Leaders:

Tessa Lorenze and Stephaine Knisley

Program:

For the second year in a row an Alternative Weekend traveled to Killington Ski Resort and helped the VASS Pepsi Ski Challenge be a success.  This fun race is a major fundraier for the agency that provides several sports and recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities.  Volutneers help with race details and management.

The Pepsi Ski Challenge offers students that might not be comfertable with a lot of client contact a chance to help support a direct service agency.  This places more focus on group bonding and quality time spent together as a group.  This years group did just that and were excited for the chance to get away from campus mid-way through the semester, looking forward to spring break.
