The Japanese major consists of at least 30 course credit hours to include the following:
B. At least 15 credit hours of
courses on Japanese
history and/or culture, taken in at least two
disciplines other than Japanese language. Six of those credit hours
must
be at the 100 level or above. All course work should be chosen in
consultation with the student's major advisor.
The Japanese minor consists of 15 credit hours of Japanese language, with at least nine of those hours at or above the 100 level, including 102 or its equivalent. Three credit hours at or above the 100 level in Japanese linguistics or literature may be substituted for three credits of language study beyond 102 or its equivalent.
