This course is designed to prevent farm injury and fatality, show prospective employers you take safety seriously, build your program portfolio, and increase your legal work opportunities. It will include hands-on instruction for tractors and farm machinery
operation, hazard recognition and correction, general farm safety knowledge , and help to cultivate a strong safety attitude At the end of the program, participants will take a written test and a driving test for National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation certification.
While the certification is a legal requirement for 14- and 15-year-olds who are employed on a farm other than that of their parents or guardians, the training is recommended for all youths, ages 14-19, working in agriculture.
