(2003-06-01 - 2008-08-31) The primary objectives of this project were to conduct measurements of surface-atmosphere exchanges of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) over a New England forest and evaluate possible pathways for assimilation of atmospheric mercury into the biota of terrestrial ecosystems of the region.

This was done in the context of an ongoing project focusing on year-round monitoring of mercury wet-deposition in the Lake Champlain Basin and establishing measurements of speciated (GEM, RGM, HGP) ambient atmospheric mercury.
