Online curriculum about Google Analytics and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). 

Google Analytics Curriculum is available as a Presentation in .pdf format or as a 6-part Video series. 
The Videos are a series, each covering one aspect of  using Google Analytics.  
The video curriculum is viewed like a typical online video - you can pause, rewind and view full screen.

To use these curriculum videos you'll need:
    1) Internet access 
    2) An internet browser (videos use 
Firefox)
    3)
Your Google Analytics account username and password, except for the first video "How To Sign Up For A Google Analytics Account".

  • How To Sign Up For A Google Analyics Account -  video length: 4 min
    Shows step by step, how to create and verify a new account with Google.  Similar to signing up for an online email (like gmail). Steps include filling out online forms, responding to an email, copying some text from a web page into a text editor.
    It is recommended that business owners complete this themselves, even if they have limited tech skills and intend to delegate this to a webmaster for future steps.
    Before watching this video, you'll also need: 
      1) An email account
      2) A text editor (video uses notepad++)
      3) Approximately 10 minutes to complete

  • How To Add Google Analytics Code To Your Website Using FTP - video length: 8 min
    Shows step by step: how to use Firefox with an add on called Fire FTP as a FTP client; how to use FTP for downloads and uploads; how to insert the Google tracking code into the HTML of your web site. 
    It is recommended that your first time doing this, you practice on a test page, and/or have a webmaster check your work.  It is possible to break your website if you make even a small mistake.  It will likely be necessary to do this process for every page of your site.  If you are uncertain if this is for you, consider having your webmaster do it.  It should take about 5 minutes per page (or less) for  your webmaster to accomplish risk-free.
    Before watching this video, you'll also need:
      1) An FTP client (video uses Firefox with FireFTP)
      2) A text editor (video uses notepad++)
      3) Approximately 5-10 minutes per page to complete 

  • Frequent Beginner Questions - video length: 8 min What info does my webmaster need? How do I know if it is working? How do I allow other people to use this data?

  • Top Of The Dashboard  - video length: 5 min 
    Signing in and navigating within Google Analytics.  Calendar: adjusting the calendar timeframe and different ways to view it.  Advanced segments let you compare between or focus in on certain types of visitors and traffic.

  • Report Overviews - video length: 6 min 
    Report overviews give you an at a glance summaries of many of GA’s available reports.  You can navigate deeper into data that interests you.  The dashboard is also easy to customize.  Choosing how to display data (as a pie chartbar graph, pivot table, etc..  Exporting or emailing your data.

  • Benchmarking - video length: 6 min 
     Identifying trends is one of the most useful aspects of statistics, but unfortunately it takes months or years to gather a baseline of data to compare to.  Google offers benchmarking to help you compare your website to other similar websites.  Its not perfect, but in the short term, it beats waiting moths for  your own data.
