Preparing for the ActivitiesFest

For Student Organizations & UVM Departments

  • Remember the participation guidelines that you agreed to when you registered. They are posted again on the policy page if you don't remember or someone else registered your organization.
  • Plan how you will use your table space.
    • Remember you are sharing a table with another organization.
    • Have pictures/ads from events that you've organized or participated in or are planning for the fall.
    • Consider having some sort of giveaway such as fliers or gifts.
    • Food cannot be prepared on site. If you choose to bring food to give away, please e-mail campusprograms@uvm.edu to let us know what you want to bring.
    • Have a sign-up sheet for students to join your listserv or express interest in hearing from you in the future.
    • Have some way to keep any papers you have from blowing off of your table.
  • Get volunteers for the day. The event runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a long day. Having at least two people at your table at all times will help the time go by faster and help you connect with more people at once.
  • Determine who will be at registration to claim your table the morning of the event. If you are not there by 10:20 am, your table may be given to an organization on the waiting list.

For Community Non-profits & Businesses

  • If you are a for-profit business, please make sure you have mailed your payment to:

    • For-profit businesses will have a full table.
    • Provide students with some idea of the work that you do and how they can get involved. If you have a listserv, you might consider having a sign up sheet.
    • Consider having some sort of giveaway - either a flier or a gift. Students love free stuff, especially if it's somewhat useful. Coupons are also great.
    • Remember that food cannot be prepared on site. If you choose to bring food to give away, please email campusprograms@uvm.edu to let us know what you want to bring.

  • Make sure you know how to get to the Davis Center. On the Tips for the Day page we will have directions and maps closer to the date of the event. If you requested a parking permit, you will receive it when you check in on the day of the event.
