Joyce Morris is a research assistant professor at the University of Vermont where she has taught undergraduates, UVM faculty and Vermont teachers how to integrate technology into their teaching for the past fourteen years. She is currently the Project Director for a US Department of Education Grant that is studying the impact of using electronic portfolios with pre-service teachers. Prior to her appointment at UVM, she taught teachers in New York City how to use technology both at Lehman  College and The City College of New York. She also taught science to middle school children where she integrated technology into her teaching with the help of a grant from Apple Computer.

Sandy Lathem is the Professional Development Coordinator for The UVM Portfolio Connection grant, a research initiative studying the impact of electronic portfolios on teacher practice. Ms. Lathem has worked as an Educational Technology Coordinator and consultant in Vermont since 1992.  Ms. Lathem currently serves on the Vermont State Technology Advisory Board.

Jing Qi is from Beijing, China. She received her bachelor degree in Information Technology in China in 1995. She came to Vermont in 1998, and has been studying and working at the University of Vermont since then. Jing Qi completed her master program in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies in March, 2000. She continued her study in the program and received her doctorate degree in May, 2005. She currently works as a research faculty under the Portfolio Connection grant in the College of Education & Social Services at UVM.

Jon Bellum is the Assessment Specialist for the College of Education and Social Services, University of Vermont.  In addition to supporting assessment in the College, he teaches courses in research methodology, assessment, and technology. His research interests are in innovation implementation, technology and assessment synergy, and assessment in higher education. He has also been a teacher and principal in an international school setting. Dr. Bellum holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in Educational Leadership with a minor in Management Information Systems.

Cyndi Snyder is the Financial Assistant for the Portfolio Connection grant at UVM, in the College of Education & Social Services. Her responsibilities include managing the project budget and cost share collection. She also assists with data, website and project management. She has worked previously on several grants based in the School Research Office, most recently the Achieving Behaving Caring Project. She has been a staff member at the University of Vermont since 1998, and holds a Bachelor's degree from Johnson State College.

Kirk Vandersall is Director of Arroyo Research Services. Vandersall has over 15 years experience in leading and writing evaluations and policy studies at the federal, State and local levels. He is a contributing author on state education policy in Strategies for Equity: Creating Productive Schools in a Just Society, edited by Marilyn Gittell, and has published and presented at national conferences and seminars on assessing education technology, state education policy-making, state school finance, educational equity, welfare policy, and urban politics. He specialized in State and local policy studies at the Howard Samuels State Management and Policy Center in New York City, where he led state policy studies throughout the country.
