The Office of the Provost supports a variety of university initiatives and events. The three funds described below are available to the campus community to support activities that enhance academic excellence and enrich campus life.

If you would like to request funding, please review the information below, select the fund whose purpose most closely aligns with your activity, and submit a funding request form through your dean, vice president, or student group advisor.

Academic Leadership Special Events Fund

Purpose

Student organizations and university entities frequently request funds from multiple offices across the university to support special university-wide events. The Provost and the deans have pooled funds to provide a single point of contact for such requests, as well as a single response on behalf of the entire academic leadership.

Procedures

Complete and forward the Academic Leadership Special Events Funding Form to your dean, vice president, or student organization advisor who will approve and submit the form to Kerry Castano in the Office of the Provost.

Funding Request Form (Word)

All events receiving contributions from the fund that wish to acknowledge sponsorship may reflect a contribution from the University of Vermont Academic Leadership Special Events Fund.

Restrictions

  • Political fundraising events, charitable fundraising events, events where revenue is anticipated to cover 50% or more of the cost, and events open to only a small segment of the campus community will not be funded.
  • Events that advance the university’s mission, vision, and strategic goals will receive funding preference, as will requests from recognized Student Government Association groups.

Timeline

Event organizers should submit the funding request form six weeks before the event. Once the fund has been fully allocated, there will be no further allocations that year.
