Housing and Meals
Housing and Meals during Summer Bridge Program
Designated residence hall
All USPP students will be staying in University Heights South for the duration of the Summer Bridge program. University Heights South is on UVM's Athletic Campus, just minutes from UVM's athletic facilities and the Harris-Millis Dining Hall.
Rooms
University Heights South is a traditional residence hall. You will be assigned to a double-occupancy room, approximately 3.5 meters x 4.7 meters in size. Your room will contain two beds, two desks, two chairs, two dressers, and two wardrobes. We will provide your bed with sheets, a pillowcase, a blanket and a comforter. Take a virtual tour of a typical double-occupancy room.
Bathrooms
Every two rooms in University Heights South share a bathroom. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly by UVM’s housekeeping staff.
Roommates
You will be assigned a roommate from the USPP program for the duration of the Summer Bridge program.
Meals
The Harris-Millis Dining Hall will be your primary dining facility during the Summer Bridge program. Harris-Millis is just minutes from University Heights, and is open for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Kitchens
There is a community kitchen on the first floor of University Heights South that you will be able to use to prepare your own meals.
Cost for Summer Housing & Meals
The cost of your residence hall room and dining hall meals is included in your fee for the Summer Bridge program.
Housing after Summer Bridge
Your residence hall room for the fall semester will be determined during the Summer Bridge program. You will be presented with several residence hall and meal plan options, and you will fill out a Housing & Meal Plan Contract in which you will indicate your preferences. You will be notified of your fall semester housing assignment via your UVM e-mail account in mid-August. Assignments will be made based on your preferences, although UVM cannot guarantee your first choice of residence halls. USPP students will be guaranteed on-campus housing for the duration of their stay at UVM, provided you do not 'give up their space' by moving off campus.
Living Off Campus
All University of Vermont students are required to live on campus during their first and sophomore years. As a USPP student, you will be required to live on campus your sophomore year, which is your first year at UVM. You may choose to find off-campus housing after your first year at UVM. About off-campus living.
Students will move to the fall housing at the end of the Summer Bridge program.
