Steven Klimowski studied clarinet with Leon Russianoff while attending the Manhattan School of Music and SUNY Purchase. Mr. Klimowski played for three years with the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra and continues to concertize in chamber music and solo settings, premiering several works for solo clarinet. He is founder and director of the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble which has been performing new music since 1987. Mr. Klimowski was honored with individual artist's fellowships from the Vermont Council on the Arts in 1987 and 1990, and, in 2002, was awarded the Arts Council's citation of merit.
