| Background Dr. Francklyn received Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1988, where he studied transcriptional control of gene expression in Escherichia coli. He subsequently carried out postdoctoral studies on the structure and function of transfer RNA and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases under the direction of Paul Schimmel at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined the faculty of UVM in 1991. |
