| Background Dr. Tierney received her Ph.D. in Genetics under the direction of Karel Schubert at Michigan State University and then did postdoctoral research with Roger Beachy and Joseph Varner at Washington University. She was a faculty member at Ohio State University from 1987 until 1993, when she joined the faculty at the University of Vermont. |
