Background
Dr. Pederson’s research career began with a study of wild horses while working as a cowboy in California. He went on to study cell migration in developing embryos at the University of Chicago, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester for
work on the role of chromatin structure in the control of transcription. In subsequent work at the NIH, Dr. Pederson developed the first method for purifying a single, transcriptionally active gene as chromatin. He joined the UVM faculty in 1988. |
