Background
Dr. Kocherlakota's original training was in Mathematics. He received an A.B. from Princeton University in 1985 and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1989 and carried out post-doctoral work at U.C. Berkeley and the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute. Beginning in 1992, he began a career in software development, working as an engineer and software architect at a variety of companies, including Oracle and Excite. He joined Dr. Jeffrey Bond's lab in 2001, where he has been working on applications of software engineering techniques to scientific computing.
