Bio: 

S’ra DeSantis has been organic farming since 1996. In 2000, she became co-owner and member of the Diggers’ Mirth Collective Farm, an organic vegetable farm located in Burlington’s Intervale. She has served on the Intervale Center’s Board of Directors and was the manager of the Old North End Farmers Market for 5 years.

S’ra has worked at several agricultural non-profits including the Intervale Center, Rural Vermont and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. She is currently the Bulk Order Coordinator and Financial Assistant at NOFA-VT.

S’ra teaches Controversies in Vermont Agriculture at the University of Vermont. During her master’s studies, she researched flora in wooded habitats on farms, the benefits of maintaining hedgerows on farms and strategies farmers employ to increase water quality.

S'ra is also the proud mother of Arlo and Elsa.
