A broad based survey course intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to the multi-disciplinary field of environmental studies through a combination of lectures, discussion seminar, field walks, and site visits. This course examines the ecological, social and political-economic aspects of contemporary environmental issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Grading is based on three exams and discussion seminar assignments. Prerequisite: First year or sophomore standing, or instructor permission. Must register for lecture and lab at the same time.
