Results - Representative Landscapes
Representative landscapes from all biophysical regions occupy 22% of the land area of Vermont [thumbnail/link], and sample 89% of the LDUs occurring statewide (see table below). One measure of the efficiency of our representational methodology is that a random site selection algorithm sampled only 77% of the LDU labels. An even more significant measure is that the random selection algorithm had to sample nearly half of the state before it reached the 89% representation level.
