Blue-Green Algae Pictures
Below are two pictures of harmful algal blooms. The second picture is a close-up of the appearance of the lake surface during a bloom (not that the great amount of algae appears as a scum-like paint spill.

If you examine the lake water under a microscope you would be able to see individual blue-green alage. Below is a picture of a water sample including blue-greens and additional plankton (taken by Angela Shambaugh). The other two pictures (taken by Todd Clason) are of individual blue-greens.
