University Registrar

Veronika Carter was appointed University Registrar in May 2017.  She works with a staff of twenty-one professionals and oversees all Records and Registration functions, Transfer Affairs, Residency, and Student Veteran Services. She strives to provide innovative and efficient solutions and played a key role in the success of two separate degree audit implementations.  She leads an office that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence and inclusivity.

Veronika earned her B.A. from UVM in 1997 and shortly after graduating began her career in the University of Vermont Registrar’s Office. She is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

Areas of Expertise and/or Research

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for maintaining student records, producing transcripts and diplomas, providing enrollment and degree verifications, determining in-state residency for tuition purposes, articulating undergraduate transfer credit, coding degree audits, providing service to student veterans, overseeing the myUVM portal, and answering the main University telephone line.  The office works collaboratively with campus partners in creating articulation agreements and pathway programs, building the schedule of courses, scheduling classrooms, processing registrations, and assisting with Orientation and Commencement.  We strive to provide exceptional service in a professional and collaborative manner with integrity and respect
