Post–Master's Certificate Program

The Post-Master's Certificate program is designed for registered nurses holding a master of science degree in nursing. Upon successful completion of the program requirements students are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam.

Applying

Admission to the Post-Master's Certificate program is competitive and contingent upon space availability. The application deadline is April 15. Application for admission to the certificate program requires submission of the following:

  • Completed application form (pdf)
  • Official graduate transcript
  • Copy of current APRN/RN license or evidence of eligibility for RN license in Vermont
  • Copy of APRN certification (if appropriate)
  • Current resume/CV
  • $50 non-refundable application fee made payable to the Department of Nursing

  • GRNU 344 - Practicum: Optimizing Health - 1 credit (120 clinical hours)
  • GRNU 360 - Primary Care Management of Acute and Common Health - 3 credits

Admissions to the PMHNP program are currently on hold. No new students accepted to this track; all current students must complete the program by Dec. 2013.
