Prof. Jane Alsofrom joined the UVM faculty in the Department of Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences in September 2005. In her role as program director of the radiation therapy BS program she coordinates the curricular and clinical experience for all the radiation therapy students. Before joining the faculty as the program director, Prof. Alsofrom was an adjunct faculty member in the department for three years. She is actively involved in patient care and maintains her clinical practice in the Radiation Therapy department at Fletcher Allen Health Care. Prof. Alsofrom is passionate about teaching undergraduates and providing our region with the best-prepared radiation therapists to care for people with cancer. Her interest lies with the psycho-social impact of cancer on those diagnosed with cancer and their families and support providers.
In addition to her role as program director, Prof. Alsofrom serves as chair of the Vermont Board of Radiologic Technology, a post appointed by Governor James Douglas. Prior to joining the faculty at UVM she was the Radiation Oncology Department Manager at FAHC from 1985 - 1999. During that time she was the FAHC Clinical Coordinator for the UVM radiation therapy program. She is also a certified Pilates instructor. She owned and operated Core Conditioning pilates studio from 2000 - 2004.
