Kimberly Vannest serves as Chair of the Department of Education in UVM's College of Education and Social Services. Her nationally and internationally recognized areas of scholarship focus on prevention and intervention for emotional and behavioral disorders in educational and clinical settings, support for the social, emotional, and behavioral health of students and educators, and single case experimental design analysis. 

Dr. Vannest has published more than 150 scholarly works including 105 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 14 books and 10 book chapters, 22 monographs, guidance documents, white papers, and software and progress monitoring systems. She has successfully collaborated or led more than $20 million in grants through the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Science Foundation. She also serves as a reviewer for federal funding agencies and leading journals in education, special education, counseling, school psychology, assessment, and methodology.
