BIO

Brittney Staffieri has over seven years of experience teaching American Sign Language (ASL) at several colleges and universities around the country. She prides herself in creating a safe learning environment by fostering connections with students and having a good sense of humor and a positive attitude.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Deaf Studies, Brittney traveled to numerous countries around the world where she studied different sign languages, including French Sign Language. Upon returning from her experiences abroad, Brittney worked at a language lab as an American Sign Language (ASL) tutor and adjunct professor at several colleges before beginning graduate studies to earn her Master of Arts in Sign Language Education at Gallaudet University. 

In addition to her role at UVM, Brittney teaches online courses in Deaf Culture for other universities. Over the past summer, she developed a curriculum to teach ASL to high school students through the Upward Bound Program in Lynn, Massachusetts.
