BIO

Arby Ghemari is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program and he teaches courses in the Education for Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (ECLD) Minor program. Ghemari’s teaching methodology includes examining theories, practices, and policies related to race and language, and how they impact the working, teaching, and learning of refugee students and other ELs in multilingual and multicultural settings.

His research interests lie in the areas of social justice, comparative and international education policy, educational technology, multilingual learners, and the study of multicultural brokers as they enact their agency to support refugee families.

Prior to higher education, Arby taught and provided teacher training to foreign language teachers in several countries, including China, India, Spain, Tunisia, and Vietnam. He also held several leadership positions at global education companies in North Africa and Southeast Asia, where he worked on developing blended learning programs for local schools.

Bio
