David Mount received his BS and MBA in Accounting at Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 1966 and 1972 respectively. He began a career in Accounting and Financial management with positions of increasing responsibility including Director of Internal Audit at Mattel Toy Company and as VP of Finance and Administration at Hunter Douglas in Montreal.

In 1982, Mr. Mount and his wife came to Vermont and started the Mount Family Group, a personnel supply company. The company operates 13 Westaff and Remedy Intelligent Staffing franchises throughout New York and New England, including four in Vermont. Sales in 2010, the last year Mr. Mount actively managed the company exceeded $27 million. Mr. Mount and his wife sold the company to other family members in 2010.

In 1990, Mr. Mount began teaching at Champlain College in the faculty of Accounting. Later, he added other subjects dealing with management and human resources. He became involved+ with the University of Vermont through the Family Business Initiative and coaches the UVM team in the Family Business Case Competition.

Mr. Mount writes a quarterly column in Burling People magazine and is finalizing a book, We Started Out With Zero which will be published in the fall of 2014.
