Spotlight on the Classics Department

Mark Usher The study of the Greek and Latin Classics at UVM goes back to the founding of the University in 1791 and has flourished in an unbroken trajectory up to the present day. Many of UVM’s most recognizable names belong to members of the Classics faculty—Joseph Torrey, Matthew Buckham, John Goodrich, James Wheeler, Samuel Bassett, Lester Prindle, George Kidder. Pulitzer Prize-Winner to Speak at Theatre Symposium

Paula Vogel Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (pictured) comes to UVM to be the keynote speaker at a symposium on September 29. Hosted by the Theatre department, "Women in Theatre: Transcending Barriers" is free and open to the public. Following the symposium, the department's production of Ms. Vogel's award-winning play, How I Learned to Drive, will be performed. Read more.
