Spotlight on Alumni: Gail Sheehy '58
Among the pioneers of “new journalism,” Gail Sheehy has written profiles and biographies of figures such as Margaret Thatcher, Mikhail Gorbachev and Hillary Clinton. Her 1976 book, Passages: Predictable Crises of Adult Life, was named one of the 10 most influential books of our time by the Library of Congress. Going strong at age 77, Sheehy published her 17th book this past fall, Daring: My Passages, a memoir. Read more.
Spotlight on Alumni: Sasha Fisher '10
Forbes magazine has named 30 people under the age of 30 who are “leveraging business tools to solve the world's most pressing problems.” CAS alumna Sasha Fisher is among the group. Read more.
The Art of Snowboarding
A love of snowboarding, a passion for drawing, and a flair for entrepreneurship has helped to determine the future for Adam Vindigni ’15 and four other UVM students who are on a mission to create an eco-friendly snowboard company based in Burlington, VT. Read more.
CAS Student in the News
Rocko Gieselman '15, a Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS) major from Burlington, VT, was recently featured in a New York Times article titled, A University Recognizes a Third Gender: Neutral. Besides capturing UVM's efforts to be at the forefront of gender-neutral options for students, the article focuses on Rocko's journey to identifying as genderqueer. Read the article here.
