Lecturer Faculty Position The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology in the College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is soliciting applications to fill a recently vacated Lecturer Faculty Position. The primary responsibilities of the position include instruction in human gross anatomy and neuroanatomy laboratory components in first year integrated medical student courses, and lecture and laboratory instruction in undergraduate or physical therapy student courses. Secondary duties of the position include assisting in the Anatomical Gift Program; responsibilities entail sharing on-call duties, assisting in cadaver preparation and laboratory clean-up after courses are completed. This is a twelve month, non-union position with full benefits. Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in anatomical sciences and experience teaching medical students. Prior experience with cadaver preservation is desired, but not essential, as the necessary training can be provided. Anatomical Gift Program duties require physical ability to lift/transfer considerable weight. Good interpersonal communication and computer skills are required. In addition to the research and graduate training emphasis in neuroscience, the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology has a longstanding commitment to medical, undergraduate, graduate and resident instruction. Five of the fifteen full-time faculty positions in this department are Lecturers. One of the present Lecturers has primary responsibility for cadaver preparation; the recruited individual will serve as a secondary diener to provide coverage on some weekends and when the primary diener is away.
