Exercises to Develop Vibrato - CelloWobble ExerciseEasiest on the 3rd or 2nd finger, start from the note, keep the fingertip in place and rock the arm. Start with 4 wobbles down and 4 wobbles up. Add 2 wobbles each time: 1) 4x 2) 6x 3) 8x 4) 10x 5)12x - sounds like real vibrato
This is a great exercise to develop control over the vibrato. When some students learn vibrato, they can only do it at one speed. All joints in the hand must be flexible and loose for vibrato to occur. Note that the rocking motion is coming from the arm.
